Mohit is a Partner in the Mumbai office and is a member of the firm’s Real Estate practice group.

 

He has advised and assisted various domestic and international corporations, banks and financial institutions, developers, individuals, investors, funds, etc. on real property ownership, acquisition, sale, conveyance, joint ventures, construction and development, project finance, mortgage, lease, tenancy, trusts, gifts, wills, estate management, etc.

 

He specializes in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse contracts and documents in relation to the above and focuses on providing strategic and solution based legal advice and assistance on diverse real estate transactions. He has rich experience in investigating title and ownership of real property and preparing comprehensive due diligence reports and opinions.

  • Acted for a global data centre hyperscaler for the acquisition of freehold lands worth around INR 1500 crore in Pune, intended for data centre development.

 

  • Advised the Indian retail portfolio of a leading global private equity firm by conducting title due diligence on multiple shopping malls across India.

 

  • Represented a leading real estate developer on securing development rights for a slum rehabilitation scheme in Western Mumbai, valued at around INR 1100 crore.

 

  • Acted for a prominent Asia based private equity firm for land title due diligence in multiple Indian cities for setting up high-end logistics and warehousing parks.

 

  • Represented a prominent Indian real estate developer in the acquisition of land in Central Mumbai from a well-known Bollywood family, with a deal value of around INR 250 crore.

 

  • Acted for one of India’s leading stock traders and investors in acquiring a land parcel in South Mumbai for self-use, with a deal size of around INR 700 crore.

 

  • Advised two separate renewable energy companies on title due diligence and land acquisition for projects involving approximately 270 acres in Maharashtra and 340 acres in Karnataka.
